Summary
Digital Match Book is designed as a local-first competitor match-book app. Matches, stage logs, rifle data, settings, and DMB Lab sessions are stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, import, or send selected content through an optional feature. The current iPhone app requires a Digital Match Book account before use. Signing in does not upload your local matchbook. The website also offers accounts and shared workspaces; information you save there is stored online as described below.
Information stored on your device
The app may store match names and details, stages, targets, notes, self-entered shot results, PEWS counts, impact marks, photos, zero cards, checklists, rifle and load information, Kestrel readings, DMB Lab sessions, and app preferences. This information is used to provide the features you choose to use.
Match Finder and external registration
Match Finder uses a public match catalog derived from Impact Scoring information. Choosing Register opens the match's Impact Scoring page. Any information you provide there is handled by that service under its own policies; Digital Match Book does not sign you in or submit registration information for you.
Optional Course of Fire import assist
If you choose Course of Fire import assist, the text, documents, or images you select are sent directly to OpenAI to create a structured draft for your review. Before each transfer, the app identifies OpenAI as the recipient, describes the selected content, and asks you to approve sending it. The feature uses an OpenAI API key stored in your device Keychain, which may link the request to the associated OpenAI account. You can cancel the disclosure or create and edit matches without using this optional assist.
Digital Match Book does not use this content for advertising or tracking. OpenAI states that API content is not used to train its models unless the API account opts in. OpenAI may retain request content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days by default and may retain Responses API application state according to the API account's data-control settings. The app's response-retention option is off by default.
Optional feedback recording
Change Agent feedback is off by default. If your build includes this feature, enabling it adds a capture control; recording begins only when you choose Start. A saved report can include video of the app, optional microphone narration, your notes, app and iOS versions, a random installation identifier, screen navigation, and selected diagnostic events such as timings and error codes. Diagnostic fields are limited and filtered for credentials. Opening a protected credential screen stops recording before showing its controls. Other visible app content may appear in the video, so review it before sharing.
Drafts stay on your device until you choose Send feedback or export them. In builds with sending enabled, sign in to your Digital Match Book account, review the saved report, and choose Send feedback to share its recording, notes, diagnostic timeline, and metadata with the iOS feedback team. Supabase provides account authentication and private storage for submitted reports. Reports are associated with your account and can be opened by you and authorized Digital Match Book administrators. Playback and download links expire after a short time. Signing in alone does not send a draft, and remote live viewing is not enabled.
You can also export a ZIP through the system share sheet and choose its destination. That destination's handling of the copy is outside the app's control. Deleting a local draft does not delete a submitted report or copies you exported. Contact support to request deletion of submitted feedback.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local app data remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, remove the app, or restore a different backup. You can revoke future COF transfer consent by choosing Cancel when the disclosure appears; the app will not upload that selection. You can delete the OpenAI API key from Local Data settings and manage or request deletion of content retained by OpenAI through the controls for the OpenAI account tied to that key.
For help deleting local data or for a privacy request involving Digital Match Book, contact us using the address below. We will delete support correspondence when it is no longer needed to handle the request, subject to legal and security obligations.
Service-provider protections
We require service providers that process data for Digital Match Book to handle it consistently with this policy and to provide the same or equivalent privacy protection required of the app. Their own terms and privacy policies also apply when you deliberately use their services, including OpenAI for optional COF processing and Impact Scoring for external match registration.
Bluetooth, nearby sharing, and local network access
Bluetooth may be used to connect a supported Kestrel and read field measurements. Bluetooth and local network access may also be used when you deliberately start nearby encrypted match sharing. The app does not automatically upload these local matches or field measurements to your website workspace.
Photos, microphone, and speech recognition
Photo access is requested only when you choose images to attach to a stage or use with COF import. Microphone access is requested for the experimental Shot Tracker or when you choose narration for an optional feedback recording. Speech-recognition access is requested for Shot Tracker. Feedback can be recorded without narration, and you can use the app without enabling either feature.
Exports and sharing
You control exports from the app, including encrypted base-match packages, rifle-data packages, backups, PDFs, CSV files, and JSON. Once you send a file to another person or service, its handling is governed by the destination you selected.
Website accounts and saved work
You can browse public pages without an account. When you create or use a website account, we process your email address, sign-in credentials, profile information, authenticator setup, registered browser information, and security and access records. Supabase provides account authentication and database storage. Account confirmation and password-recovery emails are delivered through Resend.
Information you save in a workspace includes its members and roles, ranges, match plans, stages, targets, libraries, and related change records. Optional profile and equipment backup uploads are also stored online. Workspace records are available to authorized people according to their roles; creating an account does not grant access to another workspace. We use these records to provide the features you request and to maintain and secure the service.
Essential cookies and browser storage keep you signed in, recognize your registered browser, and preserve local drafts while you work. Saved website records and local iPhone records are separate unless you deliberately transfer content using a supported feature. Personal exports currently cover saved profile and equipment backups; workspace configuration and audit exports have their own stated scope.
Self-service account and workspace deletion is currently unavailable. Contact support to request removal of your account or workspace data. Security records, audit history, and backup copies may need to remain for security, recovery, or legal obligations.
Website delivery and contact
Hosting and DNS providers may process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, request time, and requested pages to deliver and protect the site. Beta-interest, support, and privacy contact links open your email client. Correspondence you send us is used to respond to your request.
Tracking and sale of data
We do not sell personal data. This website does not include marketing analytics, advertising pixels, cross-app tracking scripts, or marketing cookies.
Children
Digital Match Book is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support, contact us so we can review the request.
